Especially with after market stereo components, the engine noise being played through the speakers becomes very perceptible and disturbing. This can be permanently disabled. Description from Land Rover: "Next Generation Power Train Sound Quality (NGPTSQ) uses data feeds for engine speed and gear selection, the system carefully constructs a digital audio enhancement, which is played through the audio system.

The sound will be imperceptible as an overlay and will be audible through the speakers even if the customer has the audio system turned off."

Common questions

Will my exhaust sound change?

No. This only removes the sound generated inside the cabin through the audio system. The real engine and exhaust are untouched.
