Unlocking Adaptive Driving Beam

What Is Adaptive Driving Beam?

Adaptive Driving Beam, sometimes referred to as "matrix beam" or "smart beam," is an advanced headlight technology that dynamically adjusts the high-beam distribution to maximize visibility without blinding other road users. Unlike traditional high beams that are either fully on or off, ADB uses sensors and advanced software to continuously monitor the road and adapt the beam in real-time. This is particularly effective in scenarios such as:

  • Avoiding glare for oncoming traffic

  • Enhancing illumination of curves and road edges

  • Providing optimal visibility in varying weather conditions

Pixel headlights—a type of matrix LED technology—play a key role in enabling ADB. These headlights are made up of hundreds or thousands of individual light pixels, each of which can be controlled independently to shape and focus the light precisely where it’s needed.

Pixel headlight introduction in 2023 Range Rover L460 / Range Rover Sport L461

Land Rover introduced the pixel headlight upgrade option to the US market but unfortunately they were (and continue to be) delivered with the low-tech Auto High Beam Assist mode. OEM Activations has been successfully enabling this amazing technology and making use of the unused potential. Our vin lookup tool (www.oemactivations.com/vin) will look up your build info to show you whether your vehicle has the hardware to activate.
